The oils we’ve chosen are rich in polyunsaturated fats, which contain multiple double bonds. These bonds are essential for polymerization, forming a stronger, more durable seasoning that enhances your cookware’s performance over time.
Our beeswax serves key purposes in our formula:
- It solidifies the mixture, limiting its exposure to oxygen compared to traditional liquid oils, which helps extend the Compound's shelf life.
- As a hydrophobic agent (repels water), beeswax helps protect your cast iron from moisture and rust, preserving its longevity.

How to use on cookware:
Maintenance: After cleaning and drying, apply a thin layer to the cooking surface with a paper towel or rag. Wipe off excess oil.
Seasoning: Apply a thin layer to all surfaces. Wipe off excess oil (this is important). Place in 450° oven for one hour. Repeat if needed.

Wow, so good!
I’ve been using cast iron for years and seasoning with grapeseed or avocado oil. However, this stuff makes it super easy and gets a whole lot better seasoned finish after just the first use. Absolute game changer, I’ll be ordering more and recommend to .

Seasoning Compound
I’ve always been a bit intimidated by using cast iron for cooking based on poor experiences cooking and seasoning. Everything stuck to the pan; everything sticky after “seasoning”. However, after following Cast Iron Chris, watching a few videos of his, and grabbing his compound, it completely changes the cast iron game. I almost always cook with cast iron now because of how simple it is to cook and clean afterwards. Highly recommend!!

I had many misconceptions about using and cleaning cast iron before finding the Cast Iron Chris page on social media, and have since learned so much. This seasoning and maintenance compound has taken my cast iron from death to life! It truly creates a non stick like surface, and it’s so easy to use. Lasts awhile too! Seasoning compound is amazing
I recently got into vintage cast irons, stripping them with lye and re-seasoning them for hopefully decades more use. I have watched a lot of videos on what to use and I’ve tried to use grapeseed oil and canola oil with ok results. I decided to buy this to see if I would have a better results, and man did I. The instructions were so simple, if you’re confused, his YouTube videos are amazing. I’ve done three rounds with a beautiful brownish patina so far. I know it’ll get darker with maybe a few more rounds of seasoning and good old-fashioned use. Goes on super easy, no streaking, and I’ve already cooked eggs and all my pans with ease. I cannot recommend this product more! See for yourself and get one!

This stuff is the bees knees
This stuff is the bees knees. It is the best thing ever for all things cast iron. I use it regularly on of all my cast iron. I did a complete fix up a few years ago and have been using it since. Oven or stove top, it works both ways. I absolutely love it!
