Seasoning Compound/Chainmail Combo

Let’s face it, scrubbing bits of leftover food from cast iron can be a bit messy and a nuisance. The chain mail scrubber turned that around for me, it makes it easy to remove any leftovers without damaging the seasoning. The seasoning compound is convenient and effective. Highly recommend both!

So glad I finally made the purchase. I generally Have good luck with my cast iron and carbon steel pans. But with using the compound after cleaning for the last few weeks they are getting even better. I made a torta with potatoes in my 10-in cast iron today and it lifted out in one piece beautifully also used on my wife's favorite cutting board got it looking like new.

I had purchased a cast iron pan a few years ago but had only used it a handle of times due to my subpar first attempt at seasoning and general lack of knowledge of how to look after your cast iron. I discovered Chris' Instagram and realised how simple it could be and purchased this set to get going. I'm amazed at the results and how a little of the compound goes a long way. The chain mail is just great for cleaning. I now look for excuses to use my cast iron pan!

After following Chris’s content on his instagram page for a while I was tempted to buy his seasoning compound and chain mail scrubber. It only took a week to get to Australia which I was very impressed with, but more importantly, it works amazingly well and has our cast iron gleaming with a lovely black hue. The chainmail is the unsung hero of my kitchen. Let’s be honest, my cast iron is not as super non stick as I’d like it to be. User error? Probably. But at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because the chainmail scrubber can remove any burnt on food. It’s so nice not having to baby a pan, and know that whatever you throw at it, you’ll be able to get a smooth, clean surface with a quick scrub.
